‘Fishermen in Galicia, northwest of Spain, the region I come from, adopt a very simple system made of very long pieces of wood. It works with wedges. The wedge negotiates the connection between the terrain and the system, so it is the accident, the error inside the system. It is an important notion to keep in mind when you design with systems, since you use modulation. You must break the module and you must break the system many times in order to be able to use it. The accident is fundamental in architecture, it is a fundamental part of design practices'.
