‘As we know, the trees and the canopy are very important to bring water into the water-tables, providing potable water. This is the cycle of the clean water we drink every day. When the trees on the mountains are cut and the deforestation advances, the rainwater flows directly into the ocean and nothing goes into the water-tables. So the water-tables are dry. This is an important point to keep in our minds and the second one is: an airport is 100% impermeable, because the ground is covered with asphalt or concrete. So again, all the water flows into the urban network, where it enters into the sewage, leaving nothing for the water-tables'.
